In the Water Margin
Kong Ming and his younger brother Kong Liang are sons of Squire Kong near White Tiger Mountain. Both have learned martial arts from Song Jiang and continue to honour him as their teacher when he passes through their home. Kong Ming is known as Wild-Haired Star, a name paired with his brother’s Lone Fire Star.
The brothers later gather a band on the mountain and fight the Qingzhou authorities. Huyan Zhuo captures Kong Ming, while Kong Liang escapes to seek help. The effort to free him brings several outlaw strongholds into a common campaign. After joining Liangshan, Kong Ming takes seat sixty-two beneath the Dichang star, beside his brother.
